This area provides some of the best kayaking and canoeing on the Maine coast. There are miles of craggy granite shoreline and scores of deserted islands dotted with spruce as well as erratics left over from the Ice Age. Harbor seals, osprey, bald and golden eagles are just some of the wildlife you may see beyond the familiar sea gulls and cormorants. On land try hiking, biking, antiquing, or just enjoy the many scenic harbor towns.
